Catherine & Nicholas tied the knot (literally!) on the 11th of October 2014 at my favourite farmstyle wedding venue, Rosemary Hill, in Pretoria. Their wedding day was filled with beautiful handmade touches which complemented their farmstyle chic decor – and both Catherine and Nicholas looked amazing! We had the opportunity to take photos at such a wide variety of locations on the farm – from the greenhouse, with the cows, ruins, foresty areas and the farm fields.

Nicole and Michael are two of the nicest people I’ve met. Their wedding was on the 2nd of May 2014 at the magnificent Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg. Their day was perfectly planned and it was fantastic to be a part of. Mr & Mrs Young both looked magnificent and I had so much fun working with this sweet, down-to-earth pair. Some of my favourite parts of their wedding day was all the handmade touches to the decor and wooden signage in the venue’s gardens; the black bridesmaids’ dresses; the bride’s purple Converse shoes; and the splendid ceremony area.

Beverley & Kent said their vows on the 11th of May 2013, a rainy winter’s day, at Three Rivers – a lovely boutique hotel in the Vaal/Vereeniging area. Beverley was a bridesmaid at a previous wedding we covered and it was great seeing her as a bride. Both of them looked amazing – I just love her fitted gown & those vibrant blue bridesmaid dresses. A storm started brewing just before the couple’s photo session and we had a chance to play around with umbrellas and undercover areas for a change. Fortunately, Three Rivers Boutique Hotel had a wide variety of undercover options 😉

How did you meet/fall in love and how did the proposal happen?
Beverley: “We met in first year varsity at Wits. Kent was the quiet guy and I was the lost blonde girl. I asked him if he was in my physics class and we started chatting occasionally. Kent was so quiet that I actually thought he found me to be annoying, so when he asked me out (via SMS) I was rather stunned and confused. Kent proposed after eight years, in our home. He put the ring box in between a huge spread of sushi (my favourite food)… It was a random day in the week and so was very unexpected.”

Can you tell me about your inspiration – how did you do things differently?

In an elegant and soft pastel covered celebration, Maryke & Wim tied the knot on the 9th of March 2013 at Misty River wedding venue in the South of Johannesburg. It was a beautiful day & I just adore how in love these two are!

In Maryke’s own words, this is how the two of them met:

“At the end of 2010, we were supposed to meet at a braai on a blind date, which never happened. I then invited Wim as a friend on Facebook and we occasionally said ‘hello’ to each other. Only about 10 months after we were initially supposed to meet, did we go on our first date and it was pretty much love at first sight.”

On the 16th of December 2012, Zunaid & Aadilah became husband and wife during a beautiful wedding ceremony at Bosmont Masjid in Johannesburg. This was the first Islamic wedding ceremony I had ever attended and I felt so honored to be their photographer – I was beyond excited! It was an amazing day filled with family and friends and tons of special moments.

The day started at Bosmont Masjid followed by the marriage register/license being signed at Aadilah’s parents’ home. Zunaid then took his lovely bride to his home (just down the street) where lunch was served and the celebration started. The couple got dressed in their reception attire (two wedding dresses – what a lucky bride!) and the celebration continued at En Gedi wedding venue in the Cradle of Humankind.
