MR & MRS WALTERS |rosemary hill pretoria weddingNovember 28, 2014

Catherine & Nicholas tied the knot (literally!) on the 11th of October 2014 at my favourite farmstyle wedding venue, Rosemary Hill, in Pretoria. Their wedding day was filled with beautiful handmade touches which complemented their farmstyle chic decor – and both Catherine and Nicholas looked amazing! We had the opportunity to take photos at such a wide variety of locations on the farm – from the greenhouse, with the cows, ruins, foresty areas and the farm fields.

How did you meet / How did the proposal happen?

C: “We met over seven years ago through a mutual friend that lived across the road to me and went to school with Nicholas. We clicked immediately and have been madly in love ever since. Nicholas proposed to me on 21 December 2012 – which was the day that the Mayans predicted the world to end! We were in Sedgefield on the Garden Route and we took a walk to Gericke’s Point which is a beautiful rock in the ocean which looks like a lion and can only by accessed at low tide. Nick packed a picnic and we sat drinking champagne on the beach as the sun set – next thing I knew, Nick pulled out a ring and proposed. It was so unbelievably romantic and amazing.”

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

C: “It is very difficult to decide! Every moment was amazing! We both loved our ceremony. It was extremely special and unique and we loved being in that moment with each other. We also loved partying with all of our guests afterwards – we really had a lot of fun!”

How would you describe your wedding theme?

C: “Our wedding theme was Farmstyle Chic – we were on a farm (Rosemary Hill) and our theme was based all around that. Our wedding colours were green, grey and white with a lot of earth tones and dark wood. We added a bit of chic with some crystals and lace touches. We also incorporated quite a bit of book pages into our ‘love story’. “

Do you have any tips/advice for our future brides and grooms?

C: “The day goes sooooo quickly! Spend time with each other just after your ceremony before your guests welcome you as a married couple. Take five minutes to just hug and love each other – it’s a big moment in your life! Also, when planning your wedding, things may get stressful at times but always remember to put your fiancé and your feelings first and have fun being engaged!”

Here are some shots from their magical day; congratulations Mr & Mrs Walters! <3
