Nicole and Michael are two of the nicest people I’ve met. Their wedding was on the 2nd of May 2014 at the magnificent Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg. Their day was perfectly planned and it was fantastic to be a part of. Mr & Mrs Young both looked magnificent and I had so much fun working with this sweet, down-to-earth pair. Some of my favourite parts of their wedding day was all the handmade touches to the decor and wooden signage in the venue’s gardens; the black bridesmaids’ dresses; the bride’s purple Converse shoes; and the splendid ceremony area.
How did you meet?
Nicole: “I had a crush on my big brother’s friend.”
How did the proposal happen?
Nicole: “The proposal happened on our couch in our first flat. We had made pancakes, and were watching some random show on Discovery, I think it was Storage Wars, our favourite show. Michael lit a candle, and shortly after, he asked me to marry him. I don’t remember saying ‘yes’ straight away, I just kissed him, and then I said ‘yes’.”
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Nicole: “Walking down the aisle and seeing Michael smile.”
Michael: “Kissing my wife for the first time.”
We just loved every minute of covering this wedding. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Young! <3
