The Du Plessis family was a joy to work with! I met up with them for a Spring family session at the Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort & little Liane worked so well with the camera and is cute as a button! 🙂

Quintin, Tarien & Liane will also be welcoming another Du Plessis member to their lovely, joyous family soon!

CHARLENE & WILLEM |mpumalanga piet retief engagement sessionAugust 29, 2014

Charlene & Willem invited us to spend a day in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, to get to know their beautiful little town (as I’ve professed many times before, Mpumalanga is, to me anyway, the most picturesque part of our country), them as a couple and cover their engagement session. Piet Retief offered everything you would want for a photoshoot: railways, foresty plantations and farm scenery – many of which will also be the locations and venues on their wedding day. I cannot wait to see how amazing their wedding will be 🙂 This is by far one of my favourite engagement sessions – and I absolutely adore these two – I’ll be counting down the days eagerly until their wedding day!

Charlene & Willem’s love story started in 2003 – Charlene’s friend had told her that his friend from Frankfort, Free State had come to visit and at first sight, at a local festival that weekend, seeing Willem from a distance as he approaced them, Charlene told her friend to introduce them to each other because she knew it would be her “trouman”! So it seems, love at first sight truly does exist!

WOLMARANS |johannesburg maternity sessionFebruary 25, 2014

One of the best parts of my job is receiving great news from past wedding couples and I was overjoyed to receive word that Maryke & Wim, one my lovely 2013 couples (Maryke & Wim’s Misty River Johannesburg Wedding), are expecting their own little treasure, John Joseph.

We did the maternity session at their home and it was just wonderful to see these two again and the beautiful room they have prepped for their new family member! 🙂
Maryke (and Wim for that matter) were glowing and I know full-heartedly that these two are going to be FANTASTIC parents.

Jani & Pieter are tying the knot later this month and before the big day decided to do a morning couple session with an urban feel. We ended up in Newtown with its cool graffiti backdrops – these two make a very gorgeous couple and are super sweet together so it was a really nice session! I’m glad it’s finally the month of November so that the countdown to their wedding day can begin!

Here’s their story (once again leaving this story in the couple’s mother tongue):

VAN ZANTENS |botanical gardens family sessionAugust 13, 2013

I generally don’t post non-wedding related photo sessions, but I’ve decided to make an effort to post more of our other work on the blog 🙂 The Van Zanten’s family session really is the ideal start – this was such a happy photo session full of kisses and cute giggles! I met Taryn back in my marketing days – she was one of the nicest people I came across in those days and it was such a joy when she contacted me for a photo session with her awesome little family consisting of Kevin and Leigh.

Leigh is absolutely adorable and even though she was a bit camera-shy in the beginning she eased into the flow of the session pretty quickly. The session started with Leigh’s colourful balloons slipping out of her hands – it almost broke my heart when she lost her balloons BUT fortunately we had some lollipops to take her mind off it! 😉
