I’m thrilled to share this wedding! I met this lovely couple early last year at a wedding and have been eagerly awaiting their own special day ever since. Olivia & Brian said their vows at Helderfontein Estate in Johannesburg on the 26th of April 2014. The weather was perfect, Helderfontein provided the perfect backdrop and we were fortunate to have beautiful golden sunlight to work with during the newlywed session 🙂

So much detail went into every part of their wedding day; I love how unique their wedding theme was – they selected yellow and silver as wedding colours and combined it with a vintage plane theme.  The handmade elements to the decor brought a personal touch, Olivia and Brian both looked amazing and the ambience of their wedding day was fantastic with the sweetest heartfelt speeches. We just loved every second of this wedding!

How did you meet?

Evasen and Celia are the sweetest, kind-hearted couple and it was such a pleasure capturing the moments on their wedding day. They had a Hindu wedding ceremony on the 10th of February 2013 at Galagos Country Estate, a lush forest venue just outside Pretoria.  They kept things simple with a wedding theme that Celia describes as “East meets East and then swings by West”. There are so many special elements in this wedding; I absolutely adored the beautiful colours during the ceremony and the fact that both bride and groom had exactly the same surprise for each other during the reception: videos from friends and family from all over the world!

I asked Celia to describe how/when she knew Evasen was the one:

Emlyn & Deon said their vows on the 15th of December 2012 at Hoffeldts Restaurant and Wedding venue in Heidelberg – a small town just outside of Johannesburg. It was a small and intimate wedding with only very close friends and family to celebrate the union of Mr & Mrs Marais.

“We kept everything very simple and uncomplicated,” Emlyn says, “which lead to a beautiful, stress-free day.”

I am never quite sure what to expect when I meet a couple for the first time on their wedding day, but I was pleasantly surprised when I met this lovely, down-to-earth couple!
Rina & Stian said their “I do’s” on the 10th of November 2012 and chose Diamond 4 Estate in Muldersdrift as their wedding venue.  It was a perfect day – even the rain decided to stop so that we could take some couple shots!

Rina and Stian based their wedding theme on the film Fireproof. This film has an iconic scene where a salt and a pepper shaker are glued together to indicate the bond between a husband and wife – hence the salt and pepper shakers on Mr & Mrs de Wit’s wedding cake as well as the cute sets they gave as wedding favours!

I cannot even begin to describe how much fun I had at Claudi & Luan’s wedding! I couldn’t help but giggle as I edited their photographs – Mr & Mrs ten Cate really enjoyed poking a bit of fun at typical wedding poses! Claudi & Luan said their vows on the 25th of October 2012 at Olive Mystery in Bapsfontein. I adored all the decor and details at their wedding! They put an incredible amount of thought into everything and the blue and red colours just work so well together. The weather also played along perfectly on their wedding day: Claudi’s wish for an overcast day came true and I love how dramatic the sky looks in their couple photographs. I also enjoyed the fact that we had some couple photographs done prior to the ceremony – it really gave us the extra time we needed to get those romantic wedding photographs as well as some random, crazy poses!

Here’s Claudi’s version of how they met:
