MR & MRS LOWRY |helderfontein johannesburg weddingJune 20, 2014

I’m thrilled to share this wedding! I met this lovely couple early last year at a wedding and have been eagerly awaiting their own special day ever since. Olivia & Brian said their vows at Helderfontein Estate in Johannesburg on the 26th of April 2014. The weather was perfect, Helderfontein provided the perfect backdrop and we were fortunate to have beautiful golden sunlight to work with during the newlywed session 🙂

So much detail went into every part of their wedding day; I love how unique their wedding theme was – they selected yellow and silver as wedding colours and combined it with a vintage plane theme.  The handmade elements to the decor brought a personal touch, Olivia and Brian both looked amazing and the ambience of their wedding day was fantastic with the sweetest heartfelt speeches. We just loved every second of this wedding!

How did you meet?

Olivia: “Brian came in for an eyetest at the practice where I was working. I took an interest in him and we became friends over facebook. We chatted for a while, got to know each other and then we started dating and became a couple.”

How did the proposal happen?

Olivia: “Brian surprised me with a weekend away to Hartbeespoort! He took me to Misty Hills and to dinner on the Saturday night at Carnivore followed by a romantic picnic on the Sunday at Van Gaalen’s Cheese farm where he proposed to me alongside the river.”

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Olivia: “I have two favourite parts: my first was when I walked down the aisle to the Top Gun Theme song. When I saw Brian standing there, that was my moment when it all sunk in!

The second was our first dance together as husband and wife. Brian chose our song and kept it a surprise. It was an incredibly special moment for me when I recognised the song.”

Brian: “My Favourite part of the day was the entire day in itself. The day was absolutely perfect in every way, largely in part due to my amazing wife. I stay true to what I said; you are the wind lifting me up higher, every day.

If I had to select one or two things out of the day in particular, it would definitely be seeing my beautiful bride walking down the aisle and then later on having a huge party with our friends and family, something we both love doing.”

Do you have any tips/advice for our future brides and grooms?

Olivia: “Give your groom something to surprise you with on the day. Brian chose our first song and that was unforgettable.”

Brian: “My tips would be to just take in the day, laugh, relax and joke around with your best men. It really helps to calm you and take your mind away from the ‘big build-up’.

Next, at the wedding, just enjoy it and let it run. The day is finally here, just you and your wife take it in your stride, laugh and most of all just have fun!”

Is there anything else you would like to add?

“Thank you to all our family and friends with their overwhelming help, love and support. We are so grateful we found you to capture our special day. We were so impressed with your professionalism and your hard work on the day! Thank you, you were both simply AMAZING and made our special day perfect. You went beyond our expectations!!!!”

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Lowry, we wish you a lifetime of happiness together <3
