Minette & Jan Hugo tied the knot on the 5th of January 2014 at Makiti wedding venue in the Cradle of Humankind area. It was my first wedding for 2014 and I was very excited to start off the year with this beautiful morning ceremony and brunch reception. It was relaxed yet elegant and Minette and Jan Hugo are an amazing couple to work with! I absolutely love a good, school acquintances/online reconnecting, love story and this one is really beautiful.

There’s nothing I enjoy more on a weekend than a family session – and the Pittaways were just too lovely for words! Mariana, Tulsa & little Keenan are the perfect little family and I’m still impressed with how eagerly Keenan posed for the camera!
The session ended off with a casual picnic at the botanical gardens and Tulsa entertained us with some relaxed guitar playing. It was great fun! Here’s some shots from their session:

Jani & Pieter said their vows on the 30th of November 2013 at The Blades Hotel in Roodeplaat, Pretoria. Earlier in 2013 I had an awesome urban engagement session with them in the heart of JHB’s city bowl: Jani & Pieter’s Urban Newtown Session. I knew then already their wedding day would be precious and I had a great time working with them. It was a perfect day – perfect weather and the ambience was just fantastic. Mr & Mrs Louw are a lovely couple and made sure to keep their wedding day personal by having friends’ perform songs for them and spoiling their guests with an extravagant six course meal! Their decor had an elegant French Country Chic theme and I just loved the gorgeous proteas.
Their advice for future brides & grooms is to enjoy the day and not to stress unnecessarily – it’s you and your partner’s dream coming true!

Hanlie & Bennie met whilst doing their articles together – romance bloomed and on the 12th of October 2013 they said their vows at Kiepersol Wedding Village in Parys, Free State. It was a perfect day at the perfect setting – I’ve had the privilege to cover a few weddings at Kiepersol before and I’m always suprised at how much effort the venue coordinators put into the decor – each wedding is so unique and picturesque.
Hanlie & Bennie were an amazing couple to work with – they are so comfortable together & they made their wedding a fun one in every way possible. I especially enjoyed the lively opening of the dancefloor! 🙂

Zeli & Fred have officially set the date for their wedding next year and for their engagement photoshoot we spent some time at the botanical gardens. These two are incredible together – fun, down-to-earth and a match made to last 🙂
