This was our first wedding of the new wedding season – and it was such a gorgeous Spring wedding! Tamaryn & Moritz tied the knot on the 27th of September 2014 at Buitengeluk in Fourways, Johannesburg. They were an amazing couple to start the new wedding season with – both beautiful inside and out and one of the most relaxed and jolly couples I’ve had the opportunity to meet. Keeping with their down-to-earth characters, this pair requested to only have natural candid shots taken on their wedding day.

CHARLENE & WILLEM |mpumalanga piet retief engagement sessionAugust 29, 2014

Charlene & Willem invited us to spend a day in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, to get to know their beautiful little town (as I’ve professed many times before, Mpumalanga is, to me anyway, the most picturesque part of our country), them as a couple and cover their engagement session. Piet Retief offered everything you would want for a photoshoot: railways, foresty plantations and farm scenery – many of which will also be the locations and venues on their wedding day. I cannot wait to see how amazing their wedding will be 🙂 This is by far one of my favourite engagement sessions – and I absolutely adore these two – I’ll be counting down the days eagerly until their wedding day!

Charlene & Willem’s love story started in 2003 – Charlene’s friend had told her that his friend from Frankfort, Free State had come to visit and at first sight, at a local festival that weekend, seeing Willem from a distance as he approaced them, Charlene told her friend to introduce them to each other because she knew it would be her “trouman”! So it seems, love at first sight truly does exist!

LYDALL & DU TOIT |irene dairy farm family sessionJuly 18, 2014

posted in Family Photoshoots

It’s always great to see familiar faces from past weddings – and even better when you get to do a session with them! The du Toits and Lydalls chose Irene Dairy Farm as the ideal location for their late-afternoon winter family photosession and it was a lovely day on the farm. I am so impressed with the little ones – they played along so well with the camera 🙂

We had an incredible time working with this adorable bunch <3

MR & MRS DU TOIT |kuthaba bush modimolle weddingMay 28, 2013

I really love when couples book me way in advance – it gives me so much time to get to know them. They end up feeling more like friends than clients! Madelaine & Jaun are one of these couples. I’ve been chatting to Madelaine for many months about their wedding day and she kept me up-to-date with every part of the planning process. I have such a soft spot for this beautiful (inside & out) bride and it was devastating when I heard that her father passed away just before their wedding day. I thought it was beautiful that she dedicated a very precious scrapbook to her father on the day to make sure his presence was felt. Her elegance in dealing with every and any difficult situation has given me such great respect for her.

Their vintage dusky rose wedding was held at Kuthaba Bush Lodge in Modimolle, Limpopo on the 20th of April 2013. It was a weekend affair and started with a social braai the Friday evening, their wedding on the Saturday and a breakfast buffet on the Sunday morning. We were all pretty tense when it POURED on the wedding day – now don’t get me wrong, rain can be amazing on a wedding day – but these two were hoping for a sunny day and I just felt they deserved to have this wish come true. Needless to say, it was a BIG relief when the rain stopped just before the ceremony started and we had the most beautiful golden sunlight to work with during the newly-wed session. 🙂
