Rosemary Hill in Mooiplaat is one of my favourite wedding venues and I was really excited when Monique and Jason decided to do their engagement session there. It was a Spring Day photoshoot and it was so much fun working with this lovely couple!
Monique & Jason met at Rhapsody’s in Bedfordview when Jason approached her to say “I must say: you are gorgeous!” They exchanged numbers and went for a lunch date which ended off with a session at the arcade games. Since then they have been inseperable!
We loved working with these two and had so much fun trying out all the different photo locations at Rosemary Hill: from the foresty areas to the awesome greenhouse.

I generally don’t post non-wedding related photo sessions, but I’ve decided to make an effort to post more of our other work on the blog 🙂 The Van Zanten’s family session really is the ideal start – this was such a happy photo session full of kisses and cute giggles! I met Taryn back in my marketing days – she was one of the nicest people I came across in those days and it was such a joy when she contacted me for a photo session with her awesome little family consisting of Kevin and Leigh.
Leigh is absolutely adorable and even though she was a bit camera-shy in the beginning she eased into the flow of the session pretty quickly. The session started with Leigh’s colourful balloons slipping out of her hands – it almost broke my heart when she lost her balloons BUT fortunately we had some lollipops to take her mind off it! 😉

The Vickeries approached us for a couple session in celebration of their third year wedding anniversary. We decided on Cullinan, a beautiful yet humble small town just outside of Pretoria. Samantha & Marsden wanted to tell the story of their marriage journey throughout the session. This included their struggle in starting a family and their hope for the future. It was a really personal, creative and fun session. We were spoilt with the most beautiful golden natural light and the session finished off with a gorgeous sunset.

Beverley & Kent said their vows on the 11th of May 2013, a rainy winter’s day, at Three Rivers – a lovely boutique hotel in the Vaal/Vereeniging area. Beverley was a bridesmaid at a previous wedding we covered and it was great seeing her as a bride. Both of them looked amazing – I just love her fitted gown & those vibrant blue bridesmaid dresses. A storm started brewing just before the couple’s photo session and we had a chance to play around with umbrellas and undercover areas for a change. Fortunately, Three Rivers Boutique Hotel had a wide variety of undercover options 😉
How did you meet/fall in love and how did the proposal happen?
Beverley: “We met in first year varsity at Wits. Kent was the quiet guy and I was the lost blonde girl. I asked him if he was in my physics class and we started chatting occasionally. Kent was so quiet that I actually thought he found me to be annoying, so when he asked me out (via SMS) I was rather stunned and confused. Kent proposed after eight years, in our home. He put the ring box in between a huge spread of sushi (my favourite food)… It was a random day in the week and so was very unexpected.”
