Chantel & Johny finally tied the knot on the 28th of April 2013 at the luxurious Avianto Estate in Muldersdrift. I just love these two – they look SO great together (it’s like they were made to be in front of the camera) and they are genuinely nice, kind-hearted people. Their The Notebook inspired engagement session in Cullinan, Gauteng last year was probably my favourite engagement session of all time and I knew their wedding day would be special in more ways than I could ever imagine. (Click here to view their Cullinan The Notebook inspired Engagement Session.)
These PRIMARY school sweethearts planned an unforgettable wedding day, filled with beautiful creative DIY elements, stunning elegance and the most lovely heartfelt moments – Johny even sang a song he wrote especially for his bride during his speech!
Not to mention their wedding attire – Chantel’s dress & Johny’s suit was a dream to photograph and we were spoiled with the most lovely sunlight during their couple session; of course Avianto‘s gardens and scenery also never fails to impress.
Can you tell me about your inspiration – how did you do things differently?
Chantel: “We loved the whole DIY theme and tried incorporating and finding inspiration of the vintage era.”
How would you describe your wedding theme?
Chantel: “A lot of DIY, splash of colour, vintage looking and elegant.”
What was your favourite part or things about your wedding?
Chantel: “There are so many favourites, but the most memorable moment was when my bridesmaids started walking down the isle, I just had this very emotional realisation of what was about to happen!”
Jon: “When Chantel walked down the isle!”
What advice/tips do you have for other couples in the process of planning their wedding?
“To really just take in every moment of planning and embracing it as it goes by so fast! To try and stay calm on your wedding day as it helps you remember more and to really not be bothered with things going wrong, it is already more than a perfect day just getting married to the love of your life.”
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Coetzee – I predict only the best for the two of you!
