I am so excited about Ronnie & Trevor’s wedding in March 2013! They booked me way in advance and naturally due to all the e-mails and conversations my anticipation for their wedding day has grown tremendously. These two really are a perfect match! They’ve even been tested by a difficult fight with cancer but their relationship has proven to be untouchable. I had so much fun on their engagement session. They just make such a lovely couple – the photo opportunities just come naturally!
Here’s Ronnie’s version of their love story:
“Let me tell you about Trev and I: we are an awesome couple who barely ever fight. We get along like friends and we have been through more than what most couples should have to, including two years of our relationship being devoted to fighting my Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Trev and I met about 8 and a half years ago. I started working at a printing company where he used to get stuff printed for his company – I was instantly smitten with this peroxide blonde boy and his blue eyes. I remember telling my mom, ‘Mom, that’s Trevor, I like him’ (of course getting all giddy and giggly).
Trev was shy at first and it took a little coaxing to get him to come out with me and my weirdo friends. Eventually I succeeded: he came to Doors with us and from there our friendship grew into something a whole lot more. It was the 26th of June 2005, the night I first kissed him. We went out for dinner and were busy eating, when I received a panicked call from my mom telling me there had been a family emergency. Trev rushed me home and drove us all to the hospital. I just couldn’t contain my gratitude and attack-kissed him when he dropped me off 🙂 He asked me out over SMS the next day, the 27th of June 2005… A day Trev will never forget – because I won’t allow it!
We dated for 6 and a half years before he proposed: it was the 9th of December 2011; we went to Warmbaths (our absolute favorite holiday spot) and we were walking, hand-in-hand under the trees over a bridge, when he stops and tells me he wants to take a photo. I wasn’t curious as this is normal for us. He sets up the camera and comes and gives me a kiss, tells me he loves me and gets down on one knee. I was too scared to look down in case he was joking, but when I did he had a beautiful solitaire ring and asked me to marry him. I was so happy I just started crying! It was perfect and the best part is we have it all on video now too.
After almost 8 years on the 16th or March 2013, I get to marry the man of my dreams, my soulmate, my best friend, and after fighting cancer for 2 years, hopefully the wedding will be a beautiful beginning to our happily ever after. “
I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding later this year at the lovely Forest Walk Venue in Midrand – I’m sure it will be a gorgeous celebration of love but in the meantime, here’s some photos from their e-session at the Emmarentia Botanical Gardens in Johannesburg:
